*Ingredients
°1 chopped onion
°450 g (1 lb) semi-lean ground beef
°160 ml (2/3 cup) ketchup
°125 ml (1/2 cup) chili sauce
°15 ml (1 tbsp.) Worcestershire sauce
°15 ml (1 tbsp.) tomato paste
°8 hot dog buns
+To garnish (optional):
°500 ml (2 cups) shredded romaine lettuce
°1 tomato, diced
°125 ml (1/2 cup) cheddar, diced
*Preparation
In a skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Cook the onion for 1 minute.
Add the beef and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon, until it has lost its pink color.
Add ketchup, chili sauce, Worcestershire sauce and tomato paste. Salt, pepper and stir. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes over low-medium heat.
Open the hot dog buns. Top with meat mixture and, if desired, lettuce, tomato and cheddar.
